Volusia County parks
Volusia County is blessed with some of the most beautiful parks
in the southeastern United States. Visitors can find many leisure
or recreational activities to suit their interests and lifestyle,
such as sporting events, camping, fishing, and historic and archaeological
sites.
All parks in Volusia County are open from sunrise to sunset. Most
parks do not charge for admission, but those with campsites
or canoe rentals do charge for the rental of the campsite or canoe.
Campsites in Volusia County are $10 per night during the months
of April to August, $15 per night during September to March, and
$20 per night during special events. Discounted weekly rates are
also available. Campsites are $60 per week during the months of
April to August, $90 per week during September to March, and $120
per week during special events. Group camping fees per site, per
night, also vary throughout the year. During April to August, there
is a minimum of $10 per site for a large group. If a site other
than a campsite is used, the fee is $1.50 per person. During September
to March, the fee is a minimum of $15 and $2 per person if a site
other than a designated campsite is used. During special events,
the fee is $20 or $2.50 per person. There is a $2 per site per
night fee for electricity, if available. A $5 recreational dumping
fee will be charged for all non-camping related sewage. Firewood
is $3 per site per night, or campers can provide their own from
sources outside of county property.
Pavilions may also be reserved at many parks throughout the County.
Pavilions are provided at no charge for three hours or less. After three
hours, large pavilions, which hold up to 80 people, may be reserved
for $10 per hour or $25 per day. Smaller pavilions are $3 per hour

27th Avenue Park -- Featuring its scenic beachfront location,
27th Avenue Park has an innovative design that not only enhances
the beach, but also provides improved pedestrian beach access. Beach
cabanas with picnic tables, a promenade, children's playground,
and 130 off-beach parking spaces can also be found at the park.

Bicentennial Park -- Bicentennial Park offers visitors a
variety of facilities for hours of activity and recreation. The
park features a baseball field, basketball, racquetball, tennis,
volleyball, shuffleboard courts, nature and fitness trails,
playgrounds, swimming areas, football and soccer fields, picnic
areas and pavilions, a fishing dock and boardwalk, and a community
building. The park, open from sunrise to sunset, is located at 1800

Bill Keller Park -- Bill Keller Park provides the community
with ball fields and picnic areas. Open from sunrise to sunset,
the park can provide a location for picnicking and baseball anytime

Blue Lake Boat Ramp -- Located at 313 Blue Lake Terrace in

Brett Street Mini Park -- Basketball courts, picnic areas

Briggs Drive Fishing Dock -- Located on Ormond Beach, Briggs
Drive Fishing Dock provides a location for the public to enjoy fishing

Candace R. Strawn-Lake Dias Park -- Pavilions, picnic areas,
and playgrounds can be found in Candace R. Strawn-Lake Dias Park.

Campbell Park -- Campbell Park provides several facilities
to occupy almost any athlete. The park has basketball courts, football
fields, soccer fields, and shuffleboard and volleyball courts. Additionally,
the park also has picnic areas, pavilions, and playgrounds. The

Chuck Lennon Park -- Basketball courts, baseball, soccer
and football fields, racquetball courts, and tennis courts can be
found in Chuck Lennon Park. Nature trails, picnic areas, and playgrounds

Cypress Lakes Park -- Cypress Lakes Park provides the community
with playgrounds, picnic areas, basketball courts, and pavilions.
A boat ramp provides access to the lake for visitors. The park is

DeBary Community Park -- DeBary Community Park provides the community
with picnic areas, playgrounds, basketball courts, pavilions, soccer fields,
and football fields. The park is located at 200 West Highbanks in DeBary. For

DeBary Hall -- DeBary Hall was built in 1871 by Samuel Frederick
DeBary, a prominent wine importer, businessman and sportsman from
New York City. This Italian architectural style mansion has an extensive
two-story verandah, floor to ceiling windows and five-ranked facade
with central hall, typical of southern plantation houses of the
era. In its prime, this majestic residence welcomed visitors who
arrived via steamboat owned and operated by DeBary that traveled
the nearby St. Johns River. Under renovation, DeBary Hall accepts
reservations for special occasions and will be open to the public

Dewey O. Boster Park -- Baseball fields, tennis and basketball
courts, and horseshoes offer hours of entertainment to the visitors
of Dewey O. Boster Park. Enjoying the playgrounds and picnic areas
or walking along the nature trails are often the favorite activities

Dupont Lakes Park -- Dupont Lakes Park features baseball,
soccer and football fields, basketball courts, playgrounds, picnic

Dwight Hawkins Park -- Baseball fields, basketball courts,
soccer fields and football fields can be found at Dwight Hawkins
Park. Additionally, visitors can enjoy the playgrounds, picnic areas,

Deltona Firefighters Memorial Park -- Deltona Firefighters
Memorial Park provides visitors with basketball courts, fitness

Gemini Springs Park offers nature trails, fishing docks, playgrounds and more.

Gemini Springs Park -- Gemini Springs Park contains two semi-tropical
springs with a combined flow of 6.5 million gallons per day. This
premier park offers a boardwalk, fishing dock, picnic areas and
pavilions. Nature and bike trails provide scenic routes for those
who wish to enjoy the many types of wildlife and vegetation that
can be found in the park. Swimming and canoeing are popular activities
at Gemini Springs Park. The swimming area is usually more than six
feet deep; the children's wading pool is about two feet deep. Canoes
are available for rent at the canoe launch area near the fishing
pier during regular park hours. Canoes will easily hold three adults
or two adults and up to three children. Canoe rentals are $7 per
hour or $25 per day. Tent camping sites are available for $10 per
night for the months of April to August, $15 per night for September
to March, and during special events, campsites are $20 per night.
Campsites are also available for $60 per week during April to August,
$90 per week during September to March, and $120 per week during
special events. Gemini Springs also provides several amenities suited
for the disabled visitor. Access is available to excellent shower
and restroom facilities, a fishing dock, spring house, scenic picnic
spots, and areas that overlook the two spring boils. Gemini Springs Park
also has plenty of ramped trails for access throughout the park.

Harris B. Saxon Park -- Harris B. Saxon Park provides visitors
with shuffleboard facilities, playgrounds, picnic areas, fitness
trails, pavilions and basketball courts. The park is located at

Hester Park -- Hester Park provides visitors with baseball
fields, basketball courts and shuffleboard courts. The park is located

Highbanks Boat Ramp -- Highbanks Boat Ramp provides the public
with access to the St. Johns River. The boat ramp is located at

Highbridge Park -- Highbridge Park, located on Ormond Beach,
provides a boat ramp with access to the Atlantic Ocean. The park
features a boardwalk, picnic area with pavilions, and a fishing

Lake Ashby Park -- Lake Ashby Park offers visitors plenty
of facilities for hours of recreation. This 64-acre park includes
a boardwalk, nature trail, picnic area and pavilion, swimming areas,
fishing docks, horseshoes and a playground. Tent campsites are available
at Lake Ashby. Campsites are $10 for the months of April to August,
$15 for September to March, and $20 for any special events. Campsites
may be rented weekly for $60 per week during April to August, $90
per week for September to March, and $120 per week during special
events. Firewood is $3 per site, per night, or campers can provide

Lake Colby Royal Park -- Lake Colby Royal Park provides visitors
with picnic areas and pavilions, playgrounds, and nature trails.

Lake Gleason Park -- Featuring picnic areas with pavilions
and a playground, Lake Gleason Park provides the community with

Lake Monroe Park -- Lake Monroe Park features a boat ramp
providing public access to Lake Monroe. Additionally, the
park has a boardwalk, fishing dock, nature trails, volleyball court,
playground, and picnic area with pavilion. The park also has tent
and RV campsites. The campsites may be reserved for $10 per night
during the months of April to August, $15 per night during September

Lemon Bluff Boat Ramp -- Lemon Bluff Boat Ramp provides the
public with access to the St. John's River. For more information,

Lighthouse Point Park -- Lighthouse Point Park consists of
52 acres of pristine land on the north side of Ponce DeLeon Inlet
in the Town of Ponce Inlet. The park features fishing, nature
trails, an observation deck and tower, swimming and picnicking.
A variety of wildlife call the park home, including raccoons, possums,
skunks, armadillos, shore birds and birds of prey. This park has
several features to accommodate the disabled visitor. The park includes
a ramped boardwalk winding through the dunes and onto the jetty,
accessible restroom facilities, and picnic pavilions Lighthouse
Point Park is open from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. There is a $3.50 per vehicle

Manny Rodriquez Park -- Manny Rodriquez Park offers soccer
and football fields, basketball courts, playgrounds, picnic areas

Marine Service Center/Turtle Rehab -- The Marine Service Center
is located at 100 Lighthouse Drive in Ponce Inlet, FL 32127. There is an

Mariner's Cove Park -- Mariner's Cove Park provides visitors
with plenty of recreational facilities. The park features baseball,
soccer, and football fields, basketball courts, playgrounds, tennis

Mary DeWees Park -- Offering several recreational facilities,
Mary DeWees Park can provide hours of activities for visitors. The
park has baseball fields, basketball courts, a community building,
shuffleboard, tennis and racquetball courts, picnic areas with pavilions,
and a playground. The park can be found at 178 North Gaines Street

Mary McLeod Bethune Beach Park -- Mary McLeod Bethune Beach
Park was named in honor of Bethune because of her pioneering role
in the equal rights and desegregation movements. Bethune, the 15th
of 17 children born to freed slaves in South Carolina, was the only
child from her family chosen to go to school. She enrolled in college
under a full scholarship and attended the Moody Bible Institute,
a missionary school in Chicago. In 1904, Bethune opened the Daytona
Literary and Industrial School for Training Negro Girls. Also serving
as the community's only hospital for Negroes, the school later merged
with Cookman Institute, Jacksonville, in the mid 1920's to become
Bethune-Cookman College, Daytona Beach. What began as a one-room
school has grown to a multi-million dollar, higher-education complex
with over 2,500 students. In addition to her advancements in education,
Bethune was the founder of the National Council of Negro Women and
president of the National Association of Colored Women. Bethune
became the highest raking appointee to President Rooseveltís Negro
Cabinet. The park, while honoring Mary McLeod Bethune, provides
the community with several recreational facilities. The park features
a swimming area, boardwalk, basketball and tennis courts, fishing
dock, playground, picnic area with pavilions, fitness trails, and

Nancy Cummings Park -- Nancy Cummings Park features a baseball
field, basketball court, picnic area, a fitness trail, pavilions
and a playground for children. This park is located at 232 Cummings

Ormond Tomb Park -- Ormond Tomb Park provides visitors with
nature trails, a children's playground, volleyball court and picnic
area with pavilions. There is no charge for pavillion use of 3 hours or less,

Pierson Town Park -- Pierson Town Park, open from sunrise
to sunset, provides baseball fields to the community any time of
the day. This park is located on Highway 17 in Pierson. For more

Pooser Park -- Pooser Park's six acres is a great place for
a picnic. Tables sit atop a bluff, overlooking a small pond. For
an after-lunch walk, a short trail circles 6-acre tract providing
great views of the water below. This park is located at 100 East

Power Park -- This 1/4-acre neighborhood park offers shade
to those looking for a friendly game of pickup. The basketball court
is situated under towering oaks with a children's playground nearby.
The picnic facilities, including tables and benches and a pavilion,
overlook a pond adjacent to the property. This park is located on

Riverbreeze Park -- Riverbreeze Park features a boardwalk,
boat ramps, tent campsites, fishing docks, pavilions, picnic areas,
and a playground for children. Additionally, this park provides
facilities that are suited for the disabled visitor. Accessible
restroom and shower facilities, ramped walkways, and accessible
fishing pier are found within the park. Campsites are $10 per night
during the months of April to August, $15 per night during September
to March, and $20 per night during special events. Discounted weekly

a boat ramp. The boat ramp provides access into Lake Monroe. This

Riv-Ocean Drive Fishing Dock -- Riv-Oceanside Fishing dock
provides a fishing spot and scenic view of the Atlantic Ocean. The

Roberta Drive Fishing Dock -- Roberta Drive Fishing Dock
provides a fishing spot and scenic view of the Halifax River. This

Robert Strickland Park -- Often hosting BMX Championships,
Robert Strickland Park draws in large crowds throughout the year.
The park has baseball fields, a BMX track, gun range and community

San Jose Fishing Dock -- San Jose Fishing Dock is located

Seabridge Riverfront Park -- Seabridge Riverfront Park provides
the community with a picnic area, boardwalk, and fishing dock. The
boardwalk and fishing dock provides the public with a fishing spot
and scenic view of the Halifax River. This park is located at 3270

Smyrna Dunes -- Symrna Dunes Park is built on 250 acres at
the northern tip of the New Symrna Beach peninsula. It overlooks
Mosquito Lagoon, and borders the south side of Ponce de Leon Inlet
before sweeping around to follow the Atlantic Ocean. The park is
home to a variety of animals, birds, reptiles, marine life and vegetation.
Three miles of wooden walks, picnic areas, pavilions, and an observation
tower allow visitors to enjoy the park while protecting the sensitive
sand dunes from foot traffic. There is an admission charge of $3.50

Spruce Creek Park -- The facilities at Spruce Creek Park
include a large picnic pavilion, volleyball courts, children's playground,
picnic sites, primitive camping loop, a fenced in horseshoe court,
parking spaces, looped trail for bikers and horses, and a fishing
pier. There are several miles of trail in the western portion used
by hikers, horseback riders, and off-road bicyclists. Campsites
are $10 per night during the months of April to August, $15 per
night during September to March, and $20 per night during special

Gemini Springs Park offers nature trails, fishing docks, playgrounds and more.

Sugar Mill Botanical Gardens -- Sugar Mill Botanical Gardens
contains many delights. The excitement of migrating warblers adds
to the pleasure of abundant resident birds. There are ancient trees,
including the arching Confederate Oak where Civil War soldiers camped,
and the brooding grandeur of Colonial English sugar mill ruins.
The gardens provide an inexpensive, wholesome family environment
where you can stroll through trails, view the reconstructed sugar
mill and statues of dinosaurs, watch butterflies and learn more
about flora and fauna native to Florida. There is no admission fee
to the gardens and the gardens are open from dawn to dusk daily.
The gift shop is open Wednesdays and Saturdays. You may call the

Sun Splash -- Beachgoers can sun, splash and beat the heat
at Volusia County's Sun Splash Park. This park features an interactive
water fountain, decorative walkways, a shaded playground, volleyball
courts, picnic areas, restrooms, a shaded playground, volleyball
courts, outdoor showers, two beach access ramps and a Coca-Cola
sponsored "cool zone." The four-acre facility also provides
95 off-beach parking spaces. The park is located at 611 South Atlantic

Timber Ridge Park -- Timber Ridge Park provides the community
with a picnic area with pavilions, fitness trails, baseball fields,

Tomoka Boat Ramp -- Tomoka Boat Ramp provides the public
with access to the Halifax River. This boat ramp is located on Azalea

Vann Park -- Vann Park has baseball fields, picnic areas,
a playground, shuffleboard courts, and a community building for

Wes Crile Park -- Wes Crile Park features basketball and
tennis courts, baseball, football, and soccer fields, fitness trails,
picnic areas with pavilions, playgrounds, and a community building.

Ramped walkways to restrooms, racquetball courts, a fully accessible
playground, and a full service recreation building which includes
a basketball court and kitchen are found in Wes Crile Park. This
